Autumn Sky

These winds, they blow every now and then,
Ruffling leaves, their colors ashen,
I longingly gaze at the sky so blue,
I patiently wonder, will I get to see you?

Last time I saw you were smiling with glee,
That glow on your face, that laugh so merry.
Soft music flowed almost magically;
It made me wonder, how could it be?

For a moment, I thought you were gleaming right there,
That smile so bright, that aura so rare.
But then, I shivered—the wind was so cold,
The dream was gone, the memories so old.

And then dark clouds soon filled the sky,
My heart, it raced and questioned, why?
“Not now, not yet,” my mind did cry,
Together we wept, the autumn sky.
